Adam Alper
Growing up a swimmer with some running background, Adam
began racing triathlon in high school and has been
competing for over 10 years. As a four-year collegiate
rower for the Drexel University Men's Varsity Crew
program, Adam expanded his endurance sports background
before returning to more frequent and competitive
multisport racing after college. He now competes as an
elite amateur in all multisport distances, with a focus
on long course triathlon and open marathon races. In
recent years, Adam has placed well enough in top races
throughout the United States to qualify for the Ironman
World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, as well as
the Boston Marathon, posting sub-10 hour and sub-3 hour
times in each.
As an assistant coach with Mid-Atlantic Multisport, Adam
is also the president of the Philadelphia Triathlon
Club, but in his free time, he likes to maintain his
full time job as a product development / R&D engineer
for Endless Pools, Inc., the fitness equipment
industry's leading manufacturer of swimming machines. As
a result of that job position, as well as from having
spent years teaching and coaching swimming to people of
all ages and backgrounds, from infants to adults, Adam
has developed a great sense of the various swim stroke
habits and techniques, both good and bad, for athletes
of all types and abilities. Those experiences have given
him a keen ability to initially help an athlete break
down, analyze, and understand the swim stroke, before
helping that athlete work on the proper mechanics that
will ultimately improve both his or her swim stroke and
overall fitness level.
Peter Churchman
One of the top
masters’ runners in the Mid-Atlantic region, Peter has a
distinguished running resume extending more than 20
years. In addition to competing in, and often winning,
local road races at multiple distances, Peter serves as
a coach with BackOnMyFeet.org, a non-profit organization
that promotes the self-sufficiency of the homeless
population by engaging them in running.
Peter is also an accomplished open water swimmer. He has
completed numerous long distance events, including an 8
mile swim across Lake Champlain. He teaches swimming
technique classes and still jumps into ocean races
whenever he can.
In his "other" life, Peter is a TV commercial Director.
