WHAT KIND OF SHAPE DO I NEED TO BE IN?

This is a question our staff hears constantly in the months leading up to the Boot Camp.  The good news is, you don't need to be race-ready at all - the weekend can be as hard or as easy as you choose.  The camp is designed to start your season off right -- with a strong emphasis on technique and low intensity aerobic efforts.  Many of our attendees are preparing for their first triathlon, while others are seasoned veterans striving for that "competitive edge".

There will be one key bike session and one key run session during camp hours which we encourage everyone to participate in.  There will also be several additional opportunities for swimming, biking and running throughout the weekend.  These sessions will be entirely optional and will be scheduled before and after the formal camp hours.

For the key bike session on Saturday, you may choose between 20, 30, 40, and 50-mile loops on rolling terrain.  For the key run session on Sunday, you may choose between 3, 5, 8, and 10-mile loops on similar terrain.  Cue sheets, fully-stocked rest stops and support vehicles will be provided for all loops. Several groups will be formed based on ability and fitness levels.  These sessions are intended to be easy, aerobic efforts.

Don’t be concerned about not being able to keep up.  These are all NO DROP WORKOUTS. There will be plenty of others riding and running at your speed!

Here's a sample of feedback we received from triathletes attending the camp in previous years:

"Not only was the camp enjoyable, but the other attendees at the camp were such wonderful people…everyone was so positive and supportive.  I made so many new friends that I will continue to stay in touch with and hopefully train with.  In fact, some of us are already emailing each other and trying to get together for rides and runs." - Laura M.

"I've been meaning to write to thank you once again for a wonderful weekend.  It was so great in so many ways.  Your staff was amazing!  I learned more that I could have anticipated.  I will definitely send more people your way next year." - Lauren D.
